The Department of Biology at Texas A&M University is responsible for research and teaching within the vast disciplines of the biological sciences, from molecular cell biology to ecology and evolutionary biology. Our faculty perform cutting‑edge research in a wide array of biological sciences in the laboratory and in the field. The Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Singh Laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying RNA-mediated regulation in cancer biology. Engages in interdisciplinary research combining RNA biology, molecular biology, and cancer biology to address fundamental questions and translational applications. Designs and executes research objectives while contributing to collaborative projects within the lab.

Qualifications Required Education- Appropriate PhD in Molecular Biology, RNA Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Recent Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, RNA Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong background in molecular cloning, cell culture, and standard molecular biology techniques.
- Conduct molecular and cellular assays, including:
- CRISPR‑Cas9 mediated gene editing and CRISPRi/a-based transcriptional modulation
- RNA interference (siRNA/shRNA) assays for gene knockdown studies
- RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and cross-linking immunoprecipitation (CLIP) assays
- Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), RT-PCR, and Northern blotting
- Western blotting, immunoprecipitation (IP), and co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) for protein analysis and interaction studies
- Microscopy techniques, including fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, and immunofluorescence imaging
- Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays to assess protein-DNA interactions where relevant.
- Flow cytometry for phenotypic and functional analysis of cell populations.
- Evidence of driving projects forward, problem-solving, and scientific initiative.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, mentoring students, or managing lab operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to develop and pursue independent research directions aligned with lab objectives.
