Job Description
The Research Assistant assists lab members in research. Manages inventory and requires strong organizational and time management skills. Performs various behavioral and molecular assays.
Compensation and Conditions- Salary: $3,.00/monthly

This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends. - Note:
This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.
Education and Experience
- Appropriate bachelor’s degree.
- Bachelor of Science.
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
- Professional experience working with rodents.
- Experience performing administrative support in a research laboratory.
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
- Ensure attention to detail.
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Assists with MCA surgery: prepares and administers IP injections, suture
- Assists with perfusions and tissue collection
- Assists lab members with acute and long-term behavior assays: VIB, ART, Open Field, Novel Object Recognition, Social Interaction, Burrowing, Barnes Maze, Fear Conditioning
- Histology:
Performs H&E Staining, cryosectioning - Performs Cytokine Multiplex analysis and ELISA
- Maintains cell cultures
- Orders items for the lab using Aggie Buy
- Manages inventory using Quartzy
- Maintains/organizes the lab space to meet inspection requirements
- Orders animals for lab members
- Autoclaves trash, glassware, and liquids
- Performs other duties as assigned such as making presentations, attending seminars and other meetings.
