• Conduct experiments to address the role of glutamate receptors in the central nervous system using mouse models.
• Examine the role of NMDA receptor subtypes in astrocytes and interneurons.
• Investigate the role of the glutamate delta 1 receptor in Parkinson’s disease and chronic pain.
• Use techniques including confocal imaging, brain slice electrophysiology, in vivo manipulations, molecular biology, drug discovery, and behavioral analysis.
• Apply genetic mouse models to study disease mechanisms.
• Analyze data generated by electrophysiology, imaging, drug discovery, and behavioral experiments.
• Compile reports for publication, grant applications, and present findings at scientific meetings.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and apply for relevant fellowships.
• Develop new ideas related to ongoing studies and test new hypotheses.

• PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related field.
• If the degree has not been conferred at the time of application, a letter from the Graduate Office or Registrar certifying that all requirements have been met and stating the conferral date.
• Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.

• PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related area.
• Expertise in electrophysiology, neural circuit analysis, molecular biology, imaging, drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, or biochemistry techniques.

• Salary commensurate with education and experience.
• Position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.
