Position: Technician I - Research

Technician I – Research Agency (Neuroscience & Experimental Therapeutics)

Location & Schedule

Bryan, TX – Part‑time. May require work beyond normal hours on weekends. Grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.

Salary

Commensurate based on education and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assists and performs experiments involving brain EEG recording.
  • Assists with neuroscience EEG analysis studies.
  • Assists with technical operations relevant to specialized electrodes and EEG tools.
  • Assists personnel involved in stereology and histology studies.
  • Assists and performs pharmacological studies and data compilation in the lab.
  • Makes and records behavioral observations and EEG recording traces.
  • Uses computer equipment for controlling equipment and compiling data.
  • Writes and edits scientific materials for publication and manages lab arrangements.
  • Orders scientific supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two years of lab work or related experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in biological or biomedical sciences or neuroscience.
  • Working experience in a neuroscience EEG research lab.
  • Knowledge of advanced brain EEG software, experimental neural techniques and analysis.
  • Experience with behavioral studies and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of stereology, histology, and pharmacological studies.
  • Ability to multi‑task, read, analyze, and interpret EEG recordings and patterns.
  • Ability to read temporo‑spatial progression of seizures and behavioral patterns.
  • Experience supporting staff in advancing experimental studies and neural techniques.
