We are looking for a part‑time Sales Associate who embodies these qualities and is ready to take our accounting area to the next level.

Job Description

The Sales Associate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, supporting store goals, maintaining a clean store, and handling cash transactions. The position is part‑time, scheduled for an estimated 15 hours a week, with weekend availability required. The role involves working at two Cloverkey Gift Shops:

  • Cloverkey 126 – St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital, 2801 Franciscan Drive, Bryan, TX 77802
  • Cloverkey 133 – St. Joseph Health College Station, 1604 Rock Prairie, College Station, TX 77845

Both locations are approximately 15 minutes apart.

Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service to every customer who enters the gift shop.
  • Greet each customer upon entry, thank them for their purchase, and invite them back as they exit.
Store Performance
  • Meet store performance objectives; review daily and monthly sales goals in the Daily Operations Binder and on the POS Register.
  • Follow Corporate and Store Manager directions for supporting store events.
  • Clock in and out according to scheduled work slot to ensure the store stays within its budgeted hours allotment for the week.
Store Appearance
  • Ensure the store is clean and looks its best.
  • Keep shelves dusted, remove trash from the floor, clean spots, organize items according to corporate standards, and maintain overall tidiness.
  • Follow any special cleanliness requirements related to infection prevention.
  • Clean surfaces as per the gift shop schedule and instructions.
Cash Management
  • Handle personal cash transactions, count the register drawer at shift start, and balance it with incoming cash.
  • During shift changes, count the drawer in the presence of the incoming employee or Store Manager.
  • Follow company policy for accepting credit cards and other forms of payment such as payroll deduction, hospital charge account, etc.
  • Note any cash overages or shortages per company policy and notify the Store Manager immediately for unexplained differences of more than $10.
Personal Performance
  • Adhere to hospital and Cloverkey policies related to personal appearance, attendance, and customer service.
  • Employee performance is measured individually and as a team for each annual performance review covering performance, knowledge of store operations, adherence to work schedule, driving gift shop sales, customer service, understanding of hospital policies, supervisor instructions, attitude, and other performance measures.
Partner Relationship Management
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital contact and understand the importance of maintaining a good relationship with the hospital.
  • Show respect for and understanding of the role of volunteers in the hospital and in the gift shop (if applicable).
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in gifts sales or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and cross‑sell products.
  • Effective time‑management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Primarily inside climate‑controlled buildings.

  • Self‑paced, requiring the ability to work quickly and accurately in an often‑fast‑paced, demanding work area.
