About the Role
Seeking a Sales Engineer with a background in power system protection to support technical sales, customer implementation, and account management. This role combines engineering expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, including product demonstrations, technical consulting, onboarding, and business development.
Responsibilities- Technical Sales Support
- Identify and develop new customer opportunities.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and scopes of work.
- Deliver technical presentations and software demonstrations.
- Support proof‑of‑concept projects and trial implementations.
- Visit customer sites to assess technical requirements.
- Gain hands‑on experience with software through engineering projects.
- Customer Implementation & Account Management
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Lead customer onboarding and initial software training.
- Support software integration and implementation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with engineering teams.
- Create technical guides and implementation documentation.
- Gather customer feedback and feature requests.
- Business Development
- Support revenue growth through active sales efforts.
- Conduct outreach via phone, email, and social media.
- Maintain CRM records and sales activity.
- Coordinate technical feasibility for customer requests.
- Assist with marketing content and industry events.
- Monitor competitor products and market trends.
- Products & Services
- Support software and engineering solutions related to:
- Relay settings and coordination
- Power system analysis
- Compliance support
- Software integration and implementation
- Arc flash and system impact studies
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Coursework in power systems or protection is preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Knowledge of electrical power systems.
- Understanding of protective relaying principles.
- Familiarity with technical software and databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
- Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
- Professional Skills
- Organized and self‑motivated.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Team‑oriented with a customer‑focused mindset.
- Willingness to travel 40‑50%.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience with relay settings or power system protection.
- Utility or electric power industry experience.
- Experience with power system analysis software such as ASPEN or PSS/E.
- Familiarity with reliability compliance standards.
- Customer‑facing technical support experience.
- Experience creating technical documentation.
- Interest in obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
