Road Mechanic

Sunbelt Rentals—the fastest growing rental business in North America—is seeking a Road Mechanic. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Specialty locations may have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil & gas equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment
• Ensure work is done safely and efficiently to minimize downtime
• Coordinate with team members for service and repairs

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired
• Experience:
  
  3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas equipment) strongly preferred
• Licenses:
  Valid driver s license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age; CDL license may be required in some locations)
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  May need to provide mechanic s tools; knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting; ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; bilingual ability may be required based on location
• Physical:
  Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more; may work indoors or outdoors depending on the job
