Job Description
Base pay rate starts at $23.00 per hour.
The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers, and construction job sites using a tractor‑trailer. This hands‑on delivery driving position requires safe driving, excellent customer service, and efficient material handling. On non‑delivery days, the driver will repair carts for the production floor.
- Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to the customer’s location and/or return products
- Deliver material in a “route truck/multi‑drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with federal regulations
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skill in maneuvering the vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other required records
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with federal, state, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
- Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content; if unable to answer, direct the customer to the appropriate contact
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of the vehicle and equipment
- Immediately report any necessary repairs or maintenance needed
- Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
- May perform other duties as assigned
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- High school diploma or GED required
- Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
- Two years of prior tractor‑trailer flatbed driving experience, including winter driving (equivalent military DD214 experience acceptable)
- Valid medical card
- Must pass DOT pre‑employment drug screen and DOT physical
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to maintain precision and control to prevent damage
- Attention to detail required to prevent injury to others
- Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for long periods
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
