Summary
Daily plans and executes direct to customer and intercompany delivery routes and coordinates additional customer delivery services in alignment with LSP Transport vision and goals. Prioritizes safety and customer reliability on day-to-day route planning execution. Collaborates with other transport planners, logistics, and customer facing teams to optimize routes and asset utilization while ensuring the highest level of customer service.
Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and track last mile delivery routes to customer locations and intercompany moves by reliably adjusting order fulfillment requests and efficiently managing driver time and asset availability.
- Track en-route assets daily and provide updates to all relevant parties regarding route changes that may affect scheduled delivery dates and quantities.
- Respond to unplanned events timely by prioritizing safety and applying critical thinking to provide dynamic solutions where needed.
- While prioritizing customer service, tactically execute on LSP Transport productivity and optimization goals for routing and asset utilization by taking accountability of the last mile route planning.
- Effectively communicate with drivers by providing route requirements and travel paperwork per DOT for all movements.
- Collaborate with the asset maintenance team to plan equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and all other requirement per DOT or internal policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with customer services team to provide excellent customer support for product and services needs in a timely manner.
- Provide on-call support as needed and directed after hours, weekends and holidays.
- Provide back-up support for peers as needed for different product lines and services.
- Knowledge of DOT/FHWA/HM regulations, specifically DOT Hours of Service.
- Knowledge of fleet operations, loading procedures, and safety/environmental regulations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to balance priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across various levels of the organization.
- Ability to apply critical thinking in stressful situations and act if necessary.
- Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in transportation industry (bulk chemical preferred)
