** Job Summary
** The LTL Specialist is responsible for managing all Less-Than-Truckload shipments to ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant transportation of goods. This role oversees carrier selection, rate negotiations, load planning, shipment execution, and issue resolution to support efficient supply chain operations. The ideal candidate has strong industry knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of LTL rating, tariffs, and freight classifications.

Duties & Responsibilities **
* • Coordinate, schedule, and execute daily LTL shipments to meet customer and internal deadlines.
• Obtain carrier quotes, analyze rates, and select the most optimal transportation options.
• Negotiate rates, fuel surcharges, and accessorial fees with LTL carriers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NMFC classifications, freight classes, and carrier tariffs.
• Prepare accurate shipment documentation, including BOLs, labels, and customs paperwork (if applicable).
• Track and trace shipments, proactively address delays, and communicate status updates to customer.
• Resolve freight issues such as reclassifications, damages, claims, and billing discrepancies.
• Monitor carrier performance and support quarterly scorecards and evaluations.
• Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and transportation teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Utilize TMS (Transportation Management Systems) to manage shipments, rates, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs and improve operational efficiency.
• Work travel to facilitate carrier/customer reviews.
** Qualifications**
* • 2+ years of experience in LTL logistics, freight operations, or transportation management.
• Knowledge of NMFC, freight classifications, and LTL pricing structures.
• Experience working directly with LTL carriers, brokers, or 3PLs.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and/or transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Desired skills & experience:
* • Experience in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Familiarity with EDI, API, or digital freight platforms.
• Understanding of national and regional LTL carrier networks.###
