Position Summary

The Retirement Plan Manager serves as a strategic leader in the implementation and ongoing administration of employer-sponsored 401(k) plans, bringing advanced expertise in ERISA regulations and retirement plan compliance. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing plan documents and service agreements, overseeing payroll vendor integrations, and ensuring accurate and timely contribution processing. As a key partner in onboarding, the Retirement Plan Manager collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver a seamless setup experience, while also providing high-level guidance on plan design, fiduciary responsibilities, and regulatory adherence.

The Manager plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and fostering long-term client satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the onboarding of new 401(k) plans, ensuring timely and accurate completion of setup tasks and documentation.
  • Serve as a primary contact during implementation, guiding employers through initial plan setup and onboarding milestones.
  • Coordinate the distribution of participant notices and employer communications during onboarding and throughout the plan lifecycle.
  • Provide responsive support to employers and participants regarding plan operations, including eligibility, contributions, and general inquiries.
  • Monitor and assist with contribution submissions, rate changes, and eligibility tracking to ensure accurate plan administration.
  • Collaborate with Senior Retirement Plan Specialists and AVPs to deliver a seamless onboarding experience and ongoing client support.
  • Assist in scheduling and facilitating employer training sessions to ensure understanding of plan responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Support preparation and review of compliance documentation, including nondiscrimination testing and Form 5500 assistance.
  • Escalate operational issues or compliance concerns to senior team members for resolution.
  • Maintain and update CRM data to ensure client records are accurately documented.
  • Ensure all plan-related documentation is maintained in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development to stay current on retirement plan administration practices.
  • Contribute to internal projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Required Education & Experience

Credential such as ASPPA or NIPA preferred; or willingness to earn one within 12 months.
