We are a construction company looking for a Civil Engineer, Architect, or related professional to join our team as a Cost Estimator. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong mathematical abilities and excellent communication skills to support our construction projects. This is a 100% remote position open to candidates living in Mexico, with a preference for those based in Querétaro, Puebla, Toluca, or Cuernavaca.
The role focuses on developing bid packages for U.S.
-based projects.
We are only accepting applicants located in Mexico. All other applicants won't be considered.
Responsibilities- Calculate construction materials, product costs, labor, and time to estimate overall cost for construction projects
- Examine specifications, blueprints, proposals, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole
- Revisit previously submitted proposal and budgets with clients
- Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors
- Furnish accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs
- Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive bid packages for U.S.
-based projects - Conduct thorough takeoffs to ensure all materials and labor are accurately accounted for
- Communicate effectively with team members to clarify project details and resolve any discrepancies
- Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, and very strong math skills
- Extensive experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and construction estimating software
- Possess a Bachelors’ degree in civil engineering, construction management, accounting, or related field
- Excellent project management, time-management, and communication skills are necessary
- Understanding of accounting, data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics is vital
- Preferred: previous experience as a cost estimator or in bidding processes
- Intermediate to advanced English (min. 80%, strong technical reading)
