Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners (e.g., Claims, Underwriting, Product) to support pricing, filings, and profitability work; ask questions to understand how assigned work ties to business priorities
  • Support actuarial analyses for assigned lines (e.g., workers’ compensation and/or commercial auto), including data preparation, basic rate level indication support, trend summaries, and segmentation studies
  • Support rate and regulatory filings by assembling exhibits, summaries, and supporting documentation; ensure results tie out and are review-ready
  • Use actuarial techniques and available tools (e.g., Excel, data extraction/query tools, internal systems) to extract, validate, manipulate, and analyze data, with hands‑on support and review
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately within established timelines; communicate questions, issues, or delays early
  • Maintain clear documentation and work papers so another analyst can understand, recreate, and review the work product
  • Perform peer review of other assistant/analyst work as assigned, focusing on basic checks (reasonableness, tie‑outs, completeness, and documentation)
  • Participate actively in team and department meetings by asking questions, sharing observations, and providing status updates as needed
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through consistent progress toward actuarial exams
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, actuarial science, or related field
  • At least 1‑2 CAS exams are strongly preferred
  • Prior internship or relevant P&C pricing experience are a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of results
  • Ability to communicate results and assumptions
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and model results
  • Results‑oriented with the ability to adjust priorities when necessary
  • IT and statistical skills are highly valued
  • Knowledge of SQL is preferred; VBA & Python skills are a plus

Proficient in using statistical tools and techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability in pricing and regulatory filings.
