Project Manager – Utility Scale Solar & BESS (On-Site)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction and execution of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This is a full-time, site-based role responsible for managing project safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client relationships from notice to proceed through commissioning and turnover.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site operations for utility-scale Solar & BESS projects.
• Manage subcontractors, field teams, and project staff.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Track project costs, schedule, procurement, and progress reporting.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, utilities, and AHJs.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving field issues.
• Oversee commissioning, punch list, and project closeout activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in utility-scale solar, BESS, or electrical construction.
• Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through commissioning.
• Strong understanding of EPC construction, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, or similar).
• Ability to travel or relocate to project sites as needed.

Preferred

• PMP certification.
• Experience with high-voltage substations, transmission, or interconnection work.
