Yard Equipment Operator 1st Shift

We are looking for self‑motivative and safety‑conscious candidates who would like to join our production team. New employees can potentially earn $56k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50‑hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full‑time with benefits!

• Load, rig steel joists and/or girders on trailers as assigned.
• Assist with loading and unloading material in shop as needed.
• Assist with steel joist bundles and yard layout as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

• Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing setting, preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months experience operating a forklift, preferred.
• Ability to pass internal forklift certification.
• Ability to read and understand loading requisitions.

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

• Manufacturing floor with machinery.
• Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
• Use of personal protection equipment is required.

1st shift;
When working 9 hr schedule Monday - Thursday Day 5:00am – 2:30pm, Friday Day 5:00am to 1:30pm and Mandatory alternating Saturdays Day 5:00am to 1:30pm. When working 8 hr schedule Mon‑Fri 5:00am – 1:30pm. Must be available to work all shifts.
