New employees can earn $67K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40‑50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

Job SummaryThe Material Handler is responsible for operating cranes and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position loads in a manufacturing setting, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Essential Functions- Safely operate overhead cranes and other heavy equipment to move materials and finished products.
- Unload raw materials such as steel bundles and coils from delivery trucks or storage and prepare them for use in manufacturing.
- Move finished goods, including steel joists, grinders, and other structural pieces, from the production area to staging or shipping areas.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring the correct materials are available for production.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

Anticipated Pay Range$23.05 + $2.00 Shift Differential + Production Bonus + Overtime

Career Requirements Requirements- Six months of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in the steel industry a plus.
- Ability to pass internal test to obtain valid crane operator certification.
- Ability to read and understand order requisition or design paperwork and read a measuring tape.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, applying common sense and understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions required.
- Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
- Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Constantly thinking and processing information.
- Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
- Manufacturing floor with machinery.
- Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
- Use of personal protection equipment is required.
