OverviewWe are hiring LPNs and LVNs to join our team of medical professionals in Buckeye, AZ, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for inmates in the Lewis Facility.
Pay rates range from $32.00 to $34.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience.
We offer a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for full‑time employees. Part‑time positions may also be available.
As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment where security is top priority, you will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and respond to emergencies.
New graduates are encouraged to apply – we will train you in correctional healthcare.
Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments and interview patients about current health problems and medication history.
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
- Administer medications, including injections, and monitor reactions.
- Maintain medical records, including entering information into the electronic health record, Tech Care.
- Observe patient health and mental health status.
- Provide emergency first aid.
- Provide patient education and discharge/release planning.
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance‑use issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and adhere to a code of conduct and all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR, while maintaining balance and endurance throughout a shift.
