• Perform nursing care guided by ANA standards and the Code of Ethics.
• Record patients’ medical history, conduct diagnostic tests, analyze results, and operate medical equipment.
• Administer treatments and medications, including careful dosage checks, intravenous lines, therapies, and observe patients.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise care plans that are family‑centered, developmentally and age‑appropriate, and culturally relevant.
• Educate patients and families on illness management, post‑treatment and home care needs, diet, nutrition, exercise, and medication self‑administration.
• Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides and delegate duties when appropriate.
• Support clinical knowledge advancement by precepting new hires and students and facilitating competency completion.
• Continuously enhance nursing knowledge in management and patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, patients, families, and other healthcare providers to deliver quality care.
• Document observations, interventions, and clinical data; evaluate patient progress toward outcomes.
• Integrate ethical principles, cultural competence, and evidence‑based practices into all aspects of care.
• Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

• Collect health data systematically, prioritize collection based on patient condition, and involve family.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement interventions including medications and emergency measures per standing orders.
• Provide nursing care that meets physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs using a family‑centered approach.
• Evaluate and document patient progress; provide ongoing quality appraisal of care plans.
• Maintain current knowledge and practice standards and evaluate own nursing practice.
• Collaborate with peers and other professionals for continuum of care and professional development.
• Adopt evidence‑based practice to enhance care standards and outcomes.
• Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.

• Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing; must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire or have 5+ years of RN experience (direct or indirect) at hire.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• For staff responsible for stroke patients – refer to stroke‑specific education addendum (prior to start).

• Minimum 10+ months in med‑surg or acute specialty setting.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience for all Float Positions.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Nurse license in Arizona (state or compact).
• National certification for unit‑specific patient population (preferred).
