Are you a resilient, highly adaptable Behavioral Health - Adult RN who excels in fast-paced behavioral health environments? We are seeking experienced Travel Behavioral Health RNs to support adult psychiatric units at our partner facilities.
This role is built for true clinical professionals who pride themselves on their versatility. Because patient needs in behavioral health never stop, we are looking for travelers who are fully flexible to work variable shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights). WhatYou’ll Do
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adult patients experiencing acute mental health crises, substance abuse issues, or psychiatric disorders.
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, monitor mental status, and manage medication administration and efficacy.
- Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu for patients and staff.
- Respond effectively to psychiatric emergencies and crisis situations using approved behavioral intervention protocols.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care and discharge plans.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent acute care Psychiatric / Behavioral Health RN experience. Prior travel nursing experience is highly preferred.
- Education: ADN or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN License in the state of assignment (or valid Compact/NLC license).
- Certifications: Active AHA BLS certification.
- Crisis Prevention / De-escalation training preferred (e.g., CPI, PMAB, or SAFE).
- Flexibility: Absolute willingness to work a rotating schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the facility.
