Retail & Store Manager
The Store Manager (SM) reports to the District Manager and leads the day‑to‑day operations of a single store to achieve sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth.
Responsibilities- Coach and develop store staff, ensuring consistent representation of the brand in customer interactions and execution of store visuals and marketing.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through training, outreach, communication, and clear expectations.
- Attain sales projections and quotas, develop strategies to maximize sales potential, and drive a high level of customer service.
- Observe operations, identify opportunities for improvement, coach staff to address and correct issues, and analyze reports for trends and solutions.
- Provide onboarding, ongoing coaching, and development in operations, sales techniques, customer service, product knowledge, inventory control, and visual merchandising.
- Maintain store appearance, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies.
- Develop and manage scheduling for opening and closing shifts, ensuring adequate coverage, training, and coaching throughout the week.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the District Manager.
- Maintain consistent attendance, comply with all company policies, and support self‑scheduling based on business needs.
- Minimum 2 years of college.
- At least 3 years retail sales experience, OR 2 years retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Preference for specialty retail or jewelry experience.
- Preference for Diamond Council of America (DCA) certification.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient with computers, MS Office, and related business, technology, and communication tools.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, problem solving, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to plan, organize tasks, meet deadlines, work independently, set priorities, and delegate effectively.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Work requires standing, reaching with hands and arms, moving between display cases, and handling merchandise. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and visual acuity is required to discern differences in gemstone quality. The standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel to training sessions and business meetings, including air travel and overnight travel, may be required.
