• Provide a high level of customer service and product knowledge.
• Practice safe food handling procedures.
• Receive, store, grind, unload, transport, and count meats and poultry from delivery trucks.
• Compare weighed results against invoices and ensure accurate records.
• Examine meats in storage and rotate them to avoid aging.
• Assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs while maintaining a positive, customer‑focused environment.
• Know weekly ad items and guide customers to product locations.
• Follow the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs and adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Be dependable, reliable, and able to perform other related duties as assigned.
• Show an outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward customer interaction.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work areas (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Stand continuously for up to 4 hours and work a total of 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Operate in a temperature‑controlled area and perform general housekeeping duties.
• Possess good vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry horizontally or vertically 25‑90 lbs., from 4” to 60”, up to 10 feet for up to 20 hours.
• Use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs., requiring up to 85 lbs. of force, up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours.
• Move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring up to 25 lbs. of force, up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring a force greater than 35 lbs., up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour.
