To maintain and repair and generally keep the physical school facilities in a condition of good repair and safety so that full educational use may be made at all times.
Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Job Qualifications- Must obtain and maintain a AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
- High School Graduate, GED, or previous experience in one or more of the standard building trades, or the exhibited desire and ability to perform the required duties
- Fluency in writing, speaking and reading Spanish preferred
- Must possess a valid State of Arizona Drivers License. A CDL License is preferred
- Work with materials, equipment, tools and techniques of building or mechanical trades, or acquire knowledge within a reasonable time period of standard trade methods and techniques
- Learn and operate tools and equipment of a standard trade and perform basic skilled tasks associated with the assigned field
- Operate and maintain trucks, forklifts, lawn machinery, power tools and equipment as required
- Assist other maintenance workers in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, mechanical and related repairs and installations
- Install or repair wiring systems and electrical fixtures and equipment
- Repair or install doors, windows, floors, walls and other building parts
- Perform drywall, texturing, painting (inside and outside), and concrete work
- Make repairs and maintain roofs
- Assist in installation or repair of heating and cooling systems, change filters and service components
- Perform maintenance and installations as required
- Clean and care for district tools and equipment, keep safe and in good repair
- Maintain and store all property, supplies and materials of the district
- Use materials and operate equipment safely, using safety equipment or clothing as reasonable
- Maintain athletic fields, parking facilities, buildings, grounds and all district areas
- Perform emergency custodial, maintenance and other tasks, as directed
- Assist in the receiving operation of the school
- Assemble, build and repair school furnishings, move as required
- Assist in building security, lock/unlock doors, windows, etc.
- Perform general grounds work, keep campuses clean and orderly
- Clean and remove debris from parking areas
- Provide emergency maintenance and repair service where incidents occur
- Maintain district vehicles clean (washed, waxed, vacuumed)
- Work efficiently with other staff members
- Work independently and in groups; be a self-starter
- Follow oral and written instructions and directives; respond with reports as required
- Assist in safety programs, drills and evacuation proceedings as required
- Requisition and use supplies, materials, and tools properly
- Secure and manage district assigned keys for safekeeping
- Attend classes, in-services and seminars as needed to improve knowledge and skills
- Maintain good personal cleanliness and appropriate dress
- Practice good public relations with students, staff, administration and parents
- Maintain regular attendance for designated times
- Use appropriate language; refrain from inappropriate language
- Maintain district security by locking doors and gates, reporting problems to the Director of Maintenance or Superintendent
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Superintendent

- Non Exempt, 12 month position
- Base Salary: $18.67 (Non-CDL) – if CDL eligible for $2.00 pay differential
