Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to join our team for a large‑scale fiber‑to‑the‑home deployment project. The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance. They will anticipate client needs, provide solutions, share expertise, and mentor colleagues.
Responsibilities- Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
- Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules.
- Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
- Maintain knowledge of reporting and tracking financial aspects of the project.
- Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
- Set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
- Three or more years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
- Experience in aerial fiber construction is required.
- Post‑secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees and sub‑contractors.
- Problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Military experience equivalent to 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer and/or 12H Construction Engineering Supervisor.
- Site‑based position.
- Travel up to 40% of the time throughout the state of West Virginia.
