Evaluates and treats patients who have difficulty performing daily tasks due to physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial conditions.
Minimum Qualifications- Current or temporary Occupational Therapist Licensure as required by the state where services will be performed (MD, OH, PA, WV).
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

License or limited permit through West Virginia Board.
- Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Evaluates patient needs and develops and implements treatment programs to identify, prevent, and minimize physical disabilities and/or pain.
- Determines/revises priorities for direct/indirect patient care activities, collaborates with nursing to update algorithms for safe patient handling.
- Documents all treatments according to department policies and procedures.
- Submits accurate charges for services rendered using the billing system via the patient’s EMR.
- Performs oversight of COTAs, students, and volunteers.
- Participates in education and training of staff, students, patients, and family members.
- Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards; training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
- Minimize manually lifting patients; limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds; use lift equipment and patient handling aids.
- Work requires strength and stamina; lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, carrying equipment weighing 40+ lbs.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and various cleaning and laundry chemicals.
- Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and effectively meet work schedules.
