Job DescriptionJob Objective:
The Nurse Practitioner performs direct psychiatric care in the medical office setting under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist. The Nurse Practitioner obtains medical histories, performs medical evaluations on clinic patients, treats psychiatric problems, maintains records, and provides health education.
- He/she participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Chief Medical Officer.

Skills:
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executive management, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/challenging priorities.
- Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are required as related to various aspects of patient care.
- Good clinical judgment
- Critical thinking skills are necessary to exercise and lead others in applying acceptable standards of practice.
- Awareness of NCQA requirements and CMS guidelines are helpful.
Experience:
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current registered nurse license and an NP license to practice in the State of West Virginia
- Current prescriptive authority from the State Board of Nursing
- Current Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number
- Certified Registered Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is highly preferred. However, if not certified, CCWV will provide intensive training under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist in a new model of team-based, integrated care in which behavioral health clinicians, primary care providers, and pharmacists all work closely together, sharing the same electronic health record.
