Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Bucyrus, OH
OverviewThe company is adding a Mechanical Design Engineer to its engineering team. The role reports to an Engineering Manager and involves design work with mechanical and electrical components.
Responsibilities- Complete mechanical and electrical design of equipment, focusing primarily on design work
- Modify existing designs based on customer requests
- Ensure design and electrical documentation meets UL and NEC standards
- Document bill of materials for design projects
- Manage multiple design projects at various stages
- Support the sales and quoting process
- Document engineering change notices (ECNs)
- Provide support to production and vendors related to design and manufacturability
- Participate in weekly design status meetings
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting as needed
- Utilize AutoCAD and 3D modeling software
- Perform other duties as directed by management
- High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least four to eight years of experience in a similar design engineer role at a heavy equipment manufacturer or OEM
- Experience in mechanical design (structural, conveyors, etc.)
- Experience with 3D modeling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Electrical design experience (control panels, routings, etc.)
- Experience with Vault software
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience in job shop environments
