Job Summary

The Business Intern will gain invaluable hands‑on experience by supporting the essential business operations of Serving Workers for the Harvest. This unique internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn about nonprofit management, finance, administration, and compliance within a dynamic global ministry context.

Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other team members, the intern will:

  • Collaborate in preparing and maintaining financial reports and records
  • Handle administrative tasks and communications
  • Assist with financial processes and compliance tasks

Additionally, this role may provide opportunities for domestic and international travel to assist with on‑the‑ground business, accounting, and audit functions. We seek a proactive, detail‑oriented individual with a passion for supporting SWHarvest’s mission.

Education & Experience
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Nonprofit Management, or related field)
  • Prior experience in an office environment, volunteer work, or related coursework

Technical
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn accounting software
  • Strong internet and digital communication skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with donation processing, expense tracking, and invoice management
  • Perform accounting software data entry and reporting
  • Support preparation and maintenance of financial records
  • Maintain databases with accuracy and confidentiality
Administrative Support
  • Manage daily office operations, emails, and correspondence
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical records
  • Prepare, edit, and format documents and reports
  • Serve as point of contact for internal/external communications
  • Draft newsletters, emails, and other communications
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and calendars for executives
General
  • Contribute to special projects and ministry initiatives
  • Provide logistical support as needed
  • Potentially travel to harvest fields for accounting/audit functions
  • Collaborate with SWHarvest staff in reaching, discipling, and multiplying the kingdom of Christ
Compensation

SWHarvest employees raise funds for their ministry role by cultivating partnerships with churches, individuals, and organizations. Compensation is tied to an approved budget (covering both personal and ministry expenses).

SWHarvest provides training, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure success in this fundraising process.
