Senior Automotive Technician – Lamb's Tire & Automotive

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Central Texas.

As a Senior Automotive Technician, you will diagnose and repair customer vehicles with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring every vehicle meets MAP guidelines and manufacturer repair standards.

$30.00/hr – $45.00/hr (flag rate), depending on experience and certifications.

• Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Perform work as outlined on the multi-point inspection and/or repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
• Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including store manager, service consultants, and customers.
• Recommend services necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition, and properly document all recommendations in the customer file.
• Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the direct supervisor.
• Work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed, but never Sundays. Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
• Adhere to Sun Auto’s core values, all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

• Previous automotive technician/mechanic experience required.
• ASE certifications in lieu of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess state inspector license or ability to obtain a state inspector license (in applicable locations) within 30 days of hire date.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school experience preferred.

The Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on ambient temperatures outside. The use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required.

• Stand 8 hours per day in the shop and walk to access various areas.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; must have full range of motion with arms and hands.
• Lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift/move up to 70 pounds frequently.
• Communicate with customers and shop personnel.
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.
