Vanguard Truck Centers seeks diesel technicians who are driven, have a great attitude, desire success, are team‑oriented, and exhibit leadership.

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose causes of any malfunction and perform repairs on diesel trucks or equipment.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervise the work of any apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensure customers' vehicles are kept clean and notify the service advisor immediately of any changes to the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Maintain a neat and clean shop area for personal safety and the safety of other technicians.
• Maintain and be accountable for all dealership‑owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as received.
• Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right‑to‑Know.
• Operate all tools and equipment safely.
• Report any safety issues immediately to management.

• Hard‑working diesel technicians willing to put in the time and effort to learn the trade.
• Work with senior technicians to obtain experience in multiple levels of diesel repairs.
• Online and instructor‑led training provided.
• High school diploma preferred or completion of vocational/technical school.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1–2 years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a CDL license.
• Must have required base tools or obtain them within 30 days.
• Major tooling provided in house.

Safety shoes are required on day one of employment. Employees must wear approved safety footwear at all times while working in designated shop and service areas.

Background screening is a mandatory prerequisite for employment consideration.
