Highway Maintenance Technician- BUDA

Overview

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Buda, Texas area, specifically on IH35. Responsibilities include a variety of highway maintenance tasks and adherence to regulations and company policies.

• Perform maintenance operations on highway infrastructure in the Buda, TX area (IH35).
• Debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, and related tasks.
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and to Jorgensen company policies and procedures.

• 0-2 years of construction labor experience (commercial, industrial, residential, roadway, heavy civil, warehouse, etc.).

• Guardrail installation and repair
• Roadway or tollway maintenance experience
• Concrete form work, concrete placement, and repairs
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Forklift, Asphalt Roller, etc. operator
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check
• CDL A License a plus

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smartphone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Full time;
Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, with some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events. Will be placed on on-call schedule.

Day shift starting rate of $18.50/hr with no prior highway maintenance experience.
Guardrail Experience starting rate of $19.50/hr
Night shift starting rate of $19.50/hr
