Substitute Teacher

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks a Permanent Substitute Teacher to support K-12 students with autism and other special needs in specialized classrooms across California. In this role, you provide daily classroom coverage, deliver standards-based lessons, and implement IEP goals using evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies. You will collaborate closely with special education teachers, clinicians, and support staff, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure a safe, structured, trauma informed learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily classroom coverage for absent teachers across specialized K-12 settings
• Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with student IEP goals and lesson plans
• Implement behavior support plans and utilize evidence-based classroom management strategies
• Adapt curriculum and materials for students with autism, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with special education teachers, clinicians, and support staff to support student progress
• Maintain accurate attendance, academic, and behavioral documentation
• Create and maintain a safe, structured, trauma-informed classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with school leadership and support teams regarding student needs
• Participate in professional development, coaching, and staff meetings
• Support implementation of school-wide positive behavior and reinforcement systems
