We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CMM Programmer/Operator to lead dimensional inspection and metrology initiatives within our precision manufacturing facility. This individual will develop complex programs, mentor staff, and ensure absolute dimensional compliance with customer requirements. This role is essential for driving quality and continuous improvement across our metrology processes.

• Lead the development and optimization of CMM programs using PC‑DMIS or other industry‑standard software based on 3D CAD models and GD&T specifications.
• Oversee First Article Inspections (FAI), in‑process measurements, and final inspections on cast parts, tooling, and specialized fixtures.
• Interpret advanced engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 standards to verify tight‑tolerance conformance.
• Partner with Engineering and Production to support process capability studies (Cpk, Ppk), validation, and root cause analysis.
• Train junior programmers and establish standardized measurement methodologies and programming best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including detailed inspection reports, work instructions, and calibration logs.
• Evaluate and implement emerging metrology technologies to advance organizational inspection capabilities.
• Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for metrology during customer audits, PPAP submissions, and quality reviews.
• Resolve dimensional and process‑related issues in alignment with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement goals.

• High school diploma or GED required;
  Associate degree or technical certification in Metrology or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of hands‑on experience programming and operating CMMs in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Expert‑level proficiency in PC‑DMIS or equivalent CMM software.
• Advanced understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and technical blueprint reading.
• Practical experience with SPC, MSA (Gage R&R), and corrective action processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent quality management systems.
• Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) and digital inspection reporting platforms.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate technical data across departments.
• Hands‑on experience with Hexagon, Zeiss, or Mitutoyo hardware.
• Prior experience supervising a metrology lab or quality inspection team.
• Understanding of casting defects, machining tolerances, and non‑ferrous metallurgical properties.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment near casting and machining operations.
• Requires standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability for occasional overtime to meet production deadlines.
