Diesel Mechanic

Ten Ton Truck Center & Forklift Repair is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our Buena Park, CA shop and handle a range of maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work on trucks, forklifts, reefers, trailers, and other equipment. This role is a good fit for a technician who has developed solid mechanical skills and is ready to take on repairs with less day-to-day supervision.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and safety-related issues on trucks, forklifts, reefers, trailers, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service
• Repair and replace components involving engines, brakes, steering, suspension, exhaust, cooling, fuel, and electrical systems
• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify repair needs
• Inspect equipment and identify worn, damaged, or unsafe components
• Troubleshoot starters, alternators, sensors, wiring, and related electrical systems
• Assist with emissions-related diagnostics and repairs as applicable
• Complete repair documentation accurately, including work performed and parts used
• Test equipment following repairs to verify proper operation and safety
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to management or service personnel
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hands-on diesel, automotive, heavy-duty equipment, or related mechanical repair experience
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems with increasing independence
• Ability to use hand tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic technology
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, repair information, and schematics
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and accurate documentation
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid California driver's license preferred/required as applicable to the position
• ASE or other relevant certifications are a plus

This is a hands-on repair shop environment with exposure to vehicles and equipment, mechanical components, fumes, and moderate to high noise levels. The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting tools and parts as part of normal shop work.
