Purchasing Specialist - Onsite

10 is currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist for a contract position with a Global Manufacturing Company located in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a 9+ month contract opportunity. This position is fully onsite. Compensation:
Up to $37.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for managing the organization's purchasing activities, including evaluating and approving vendors, authorizing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Review requisitions and confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid Prepare purchase orders or bid requests and review proposals Negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, and product quality Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine the source of the issue and take corrective action Approve invoices for payment and expedite the delivery of goods Primary Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related area of specialty At least 4+ years of experience in purchasing or a related field Sourcing experience within a manufacturing field is required Knowledge of MRP systems (Oracle preferred) Ability to synthesize complex information, collect data, and design workflows Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner Excellent planning and organizing skills to prioritize work activities and meet deadlines Desired

Project management experience coordinating projects to completion on time and on budget Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Business acumen with an understanding of the business implications of decisions Displays original thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis
