Preschool Teacher - Substitute Job Summary

The Preschool Teacher is a part‑time position responsible for supporting preschool classrooms serving children 2–5 years old. This role helps create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that encourages children's social‑emotional development, independence, and positive interactions with peers. The Preschool Teacher also assists in facilitating age‑appropriate activities that foster children's creativity, curiosity, and overall development.

• Support teachers with classroom activities, play‑based learning, and hands‑on experiences.
• Assist with daily classroom routines, including arrival, transitions, snack time, and dismissal.
• Supervise children to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Follow established classroom routines, program guidelines, and health and safety procedures.

On‑call substitute teacher for our Preschool Program from September 14th, 2026 to May 21st, 2027.

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
• Must have previous experience working with preschool‑aged children.

Hours: Varies based on program needs.

Location:

Alcott Center. Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.

• May need to lift a participant for consoling if hurt or crying.
• Must work in various weather and building conditions; responsibilities are primarily indoors.
