Overview
Manufacturing Engineer II at Wabtec Corporation. This role is within Wabtec Bus Solutions and involves developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods within the industrial plant, estimating production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to inform management decisions.
Responsibilities- Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods within the industrial plant.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Train technical as well as non-technical staff; assist others through moderate to complex tasks.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential issues while driving solutions.
- Conduct DFMEA sessions to identify and mitigate design risks.
- Bachelor s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA;
Gemba events. - Experience (6 months or more) in Auto-Cad, or ProE/Solid Works is preferred.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills; strong reasoning capabilities.
- Self-motivated and a strong team player.
- Focus on quality management and continuous improvement; ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
- Provide visionary leadership; inspire and mobilize teams to fulfill the project vision.
- Manage costs; develop and implement cost-saving measures within approved budgets.
- Plan and manage projects; coordinate activities and communicate changes and progress; complete projects on time and within budget.
- Collaborate to identify and mitigate design risks through DFMEA sessions.
- Primarily office and plant-based work environment.
- Prolonged computer use; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Stand, walk, and navigate facilities; occasional travel to customers and manufacturing sites (10%).
- Relocation assistance may be provided if eligible.
- Wabtec will only employ individuals legally authorized to work in the U.S. This role may require a drug screen and fitness for duty test where applicable.
