Senior Building Automation Engineer – Data Centers

Position Location:

This candidate can be located anywhere in the US within one hour of a major airport.

• Design building automation solutions for data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and lab facilities.
• Demonstrate expertise in engineering and contracting processes with a strong grasp of submittal requirements and documentation standards essential for project success.
• Perform engineering site surveys to gather as-built documentation, verify existing conditions, and identify potential challenges.
• Attend internal and external meetings to support potential opportunities and contribute technical details to project designs.
• Prepare design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, system integration, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.
• Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Modbus, Siemens APOGEE, Desigo, or BACnet.
• Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.
• Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.
• Prepare engineering re-estimates and follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.
• Perform quality assurance and peer-review engineering documents.

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5+ years of experience in building automation (HVAC controls) design.
• Ability to travel up to 35%.
• Occasional travel required for important team gatherings, project kick-offs, strategic discussions, or training.
• Demonstrated ability to design large and complex jobs with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
• Position will be hybrid with visits to the local area office and contractors as needed.

$68,830 - $117,994 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
