Mechanical Design Engineer

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour (Based on experience)

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of innovative electro‑mechanical products. This role is responsible for designing new mechanical components, enhancing existing products, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has experience designing mechanical components for manufactured products, enjoys hands‑on engineering work, and is proficient with 3D CAD software, particularly Siemens NX.

• Design, develop, and modify mechanical components and assemblies for electro‑mechanical products using 3D CAD software.
• Create detailed models, drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation.
• Support new product development as well as improvements to existing products.
• Participate in cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, laboratory, and project management.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, and product documentation.
• Work with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability, tooling, and production costs.
• Assist with prototype assembly, product testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
• Support manufacturing and field teams in resolving product‑related concerns.
• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and engineering deliverables.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Experience designing electro‑mechanical or mechatronic products.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Experience using Siemens NX for mechanical design.
• Experience with Team Center PLM.
• Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Hands‑on experience with prototype builds, laboratory testing, or product validation.
• Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
