Mechanical Design Engineer
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of innovative electro-mechanical products. This role is responsible for designing new mechanical components, enhancing existing products, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has experience designing mechanical components for manufactured products, enjoys hands-on engineering work, and is proficient with 3D CAD software, particularly Siemens NX.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify mechanical components and assemblies for electro-mechanical products using 3D CAD software.
- Create detailed models, drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation.
- Support new product development as well as improvements to existing products.
- Participate in cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, laboratory, and project management.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, and product documentation.
- Work with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability, tooling, and production costs.
- Assist with prototype assembly, product testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
- Support manufacturing and field teams in resolving product-related concerns.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and engineering deliverables.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Experience designing electro-mechanical or mechatronic products.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience using Siemens NX for mechanical design.
- Experience with Team Center PLM.
- Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Hands-on experience with prototype builds, laboratory testing, or product validation.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
