10 is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent for a contract position with a Global Industrial Equipment Manufacturer located in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. Compensation:
Up to $37.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
This role is responsible for organizational purchases, including vendor evaluation and approval, and authorizing purchase orders for goods or services. The ideal candidate will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks within the procurement field.
- Review requisitions
- Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items
- Select suppliers with Supply Chain Manager based on criteria such as quality certification, capacity analysis, and financial analysis
- Estimate values according to knowledge of market price
- Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid
- Prepare purchase orders or bid requests
- Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, and vendors to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
- Approve invoices for payment
- Expedite delivery of goods to users
- Bachelor's degree or higher in area of specialty
- 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Knowledge of MRP systems (Oracle preferred)
