Job Overview
Shift: 12 Hour Rotating Shift 6AM – 6PM.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs on injection molding equipment, robots, adjustments, maintenance, repair and operations of various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines. The company scope includes scientific injection molding processing operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components and devices into FDA regulated markets. This is a high‑speed and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME).
Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions.
- Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
- Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause.
- Follow all 5S guidelines.
- Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on‑device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables.
- Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, electrical or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines.
- Adjust assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specification.
- Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (molding, assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles.
- Upload programs to controls in the event of program loss or CPU replacement.
- Repair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.
- Calibrate and adjust robot pick‑and‑place locations if needed.
- Conduct TPM activities as required.
- Input maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP).
- Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues.
- Perform weekly, monthly, and as‑required preventive maintenance (PM).
- Perform root‑cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues.
- Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment. Comply with all company policies.
- Must be able to fluently operate presses, robots and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
- Troubleshoot and locate the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
- Brainstorm with other maintenance personnel and outside technical support as needed.
- Restore damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing, or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Control downtime by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain good communications with the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain an ongoing list of projects with a timeline to be addressed and completed.
- Assist other maintenance personnel as needed.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Ensure the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost‑effective fashion.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands‑on position.
- Strong math, reading and communication skills required.
- Experience with injection molding required.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, Koyo, Omron, Mitsubishi, etc.) required.
- Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics required.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required.
- Must understand Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to use basic hand tools.
- Must have strong hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Works in a clean manufacturing environment that may include moderate noise levels and requires appropriate PPE and cleanroom apparel.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs with repetitive movements.
