Set-Up Technician (Injection Mold)
Any level of operator who has experience with injection mold and set-ups.
6am-6pm on a rotating schedule OR 6pm-6am on a rotating schedule
Must haves:
- Injection mold experience
- Set up experience (varying levels okay)
- Able to work 12 hour rotating shift
Responsibilities:
- Start up, operate, and perform TPM-level maintenance on injection molding, assembly, and auxiliary equipment according to company and customer specifications.
- Support and understand the responsibilities of operator level 1 and level 2 roles to ensure smooth production operations.
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of products per production specifications to identify and address defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by following 5S standards on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Load validated master cycle parameters into injection molding machines at each startup to ensure consistent processing conditions.
- Load programs into automated and robotic systems, align them correctly, and verify proper operation.
- Monitor injection molding machines to ensure they run to standard and confirm that product quality meets specification at each startup.
- Troubleshoot small to mid-size process issues and escalate more complex problems to Setter Level 2 or Maintenance when necessary.
- Respond to machine alarms as needed, and safely start and stop machines after initial setup.
- Retrieve required documentation from the TMS (Tracking/Management System) to support quality-related decisions.
- Perform line clearances as required to ensure proper separation of production runs and prevent mix-ups.
- Clean injection molds according to established work instructions to maintain mold performance and product quality.
- Pull and set molds safely and accurately in the injection molding machines.
- Perform color changes and material lot changes as required, and complete all associated traceability documentation.
- Perform assembly startup batches or shots for product changes or new versions of existing products.
- Complete Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Level 1 tasks for assembly, injection molding, and auxiliary equipment.
- Complete cycle checklists accurately to document machine and process conditions.
- Perform lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures on any unsafe equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain and support Lean initiatives and actively participate in Lean projects to improve efficiency.
- Provide suggestions and take an active role in process improvements to eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Support and maintain all company policies, including compliance with ISO standards and Health and Safety requirements.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
