Equipment Maintenance Lead
The Equipment Maintenance Lead will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager.
0600a-0230p M-F Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system issues.
- Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting using digital multimeters, clamp meters, and diagnostic tools. Ability to follow and use electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Diagnose and repair industrial equipment involving PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, actuators, valves, and automated machinery.
- Diagnose and repair industrial equipment involving Hydraulic & Pneumatic:
Pumps, cylinders, valves, regulators. - Apply strong troubleshooting methodologies to identify root cause failures, minimize downtime, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide hands-on technical support during difficult breakdowns and mentor technicians on best practices and proper troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with work order assignment, job prioritization, and labor allocation to meet production and safety goals.
- Assist with the management and organization of maintenance spare parts inventory, including critical spares tracking, usage analysis, and reordering to reduce downtime.
- Communicate directly with OEMs and equipment vendors for technical support, documentation review, parts identification, and guidance during complex machine repairs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and maintenance process enhancements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a related technical field, military technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including material handling systems, dryers, chillers, temperature controllers, and automation/robotics.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using diagnostic tools and technical schematics.

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois) $34.40 USD - $47.30 USD Hourly
