Stand-Up Forklift Operator (IH2)

This role focuses on operating a stand-up forklift to stock materials, pull customer orders, and prepare products for shipment in a clean, temperature-controlled warehouse environment. You will work hands-on off equipment when needed with inventory, packaging, and documentation while using basic computer systems and scanning tools to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.

• Operate a stand-up forklift safely and efficiently to move, stock, and organize materials throughout the warehouse.
• Pull and stage customer orders according to pick lists and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare shipments by packing products, labeling, and organizing orders for outbound delivery.
• Use RF scanners, scan guns, and computer systems to track inventory, update order status, and maintain accurate records.
• Perform general production and general labor tasks as needed to support daily warehouse operations.
• Handle materials and inventory, including loading, unloading, and moving items to designated locations.
• Follow documented procedures and work instructions to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with company standards.
• Use basic hand tools as needed to complete packaging, assembly, or material handling tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and best practices.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and shipping deadlines.

• At least 2+ years of experience operating a stand-up forklift.
• Proficiency in stocking and pulling orders in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience prepping shipments, including packing and staging orders for delivery.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and working with inventory systems.
• Ability to use RF scanners and scan guns for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Hands-on material handling and inventory experience in a warehouse or production setting.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to frequently reach at waist level and occasionally above head.
• Ability to carry up to 10 lbs and lift up to 45 lbs safely and repeatedly.
• Ability to frequently push, pull, bend, kneel, and stoop during the course of the shift.
• Ability to use basic hand tools in support of packing and material handling tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Comfort working in a hands-on, fast-paced warehouse or production environment.
• Willingness to perform general production and general labor duties in addition to forklift operation.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet operational goals.
• No formal forklift certification required for consideration.
• No medical screening requirements specified.
• No personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements specified beyond standard workplace expectations.

The role is based in a clean, well-organized, and temperature-controlled warehouse environment, ensuring it is never too hot or too cold. You will primarily operate a stand-up forklift and work with RF scanners, scan guns, computers, and basic hand tools. The work involves standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift, with clear processes and documentation to guide daily tasks.

The facility features an updated break room with snack kiosks, providing a comfortable space for breaks. No specific PPE or dress code beyond standard, practical warehouse attire is indicated.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
