Position Overview
The Director of School Ministry oversees the School Ministry Program, the heart of the Archdiocesan Secondary Schools. In collaboration with the school administration, the Director provides liturgical experiences, faith formation opportunities that foster intentional discipleship, and retreats that bring students and faculty into a one‑on‑one encounter with Jesus Christ. The Director is also a teaching member of the Theology Department.

- Plan, coordinate and execute class/school liturgies, schedule daily masses and intentions.
- Schedule and supervise student sacristans and liturgical ministers.
- Coordinate liturgical music and compose and publish worship resources.
- Oversee sacristy and liturgical needs.
- Schedule and coordinate penance services for the school community.
- Collaborate, plan, execute, and evaluate dynamic, engaging and meaningful student and faculty retreats.
- Collaborate with administration to provide an overall faith formation plan and vibrant school Christian service program.
- Promote a culture of vocational awareness, particularly to priesthood and religious life.
- Create the master school ministry calendar for spiritual life during the school year.
- Oversee and manage school ministry budget.
- Attend administration and staff meetings.
- Promote and support student life and school activities per the administration’s directives.
- Schedule and steer meetings of adult and student campus ministry teams.
- Provide pastoral counseling to students and staff and collaborate with the guidance department and administration on the spiritual health and well‑being of the school community.
- Participate in meetings/workshops sponsored by the Office of Catechetical Formation for School Ministry.
- Must be a practicing Catholic, willing to uphold Catholic moral teaching and lead a life consistent with the Catholic Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religious Studies from a Catholic college or university.
- Preferred: previous experience in secondary education, campus ministry, youth ministry or parish life.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and social media.
- Possession of PA required clearances and Safe Environment certifications and official transcripts before employment can begin.
