Position Type: Community Education/Coordinator

Location: District Wide

Schedule: 5 days / week (Monday - Friday), 8 hours / day, 214 Paid Days / Year

Salary: $86,945 per year plus benefits

Position Description

Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Schools is seeking to fill the position of Early Child Services & 3rd Party Billing Coordinator. The coordinator plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates Early Childhood Family Education, School Readiness, Early Childhood screening and Early Childhood Special Education programs for children and families age of birth to five years, and manages Third Party Billing procedures. The Early Childhood Services Coordinator supports and advances the District's mission to prepare all students for a successful future in a changing world.

Job Requirements

Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Pre-Kindergarten or Pre-Primary.
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license in ECFE, ECSE and/or Parent and Family Education.
  • Community Education Director or Special Education Director License preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of teaching experience in public school districts preferred.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within public school preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

70% Program Administration

  • Provides leadership and direction for all aspects of Early Childhood programming.
  • Creates and ensures ECFE and ECSE programs, services and curriculum meet the needs of the children and families in the district/communities.
  • Determines and assigns staff placements.
  • Prepares contracts and timesheets for all assignments (ECFE).
  • In conjunction with the Director of Community Education, prepares ECFE budgeting recommendations for the program.
  • Tracks program expenses throughout the year.
  • Coordinates ECFE advisory council meetings on a regular basis including providing updated information to council members, preparing meeting materials, scheduling meetings, and assisting in policy formulation.
  • Prepares and seeks grant opportunities to obtain funding to maximize resources.
  • Problem solves sub‑coverage for teachers and Educational Support Professionals.
  • Ensures programs remain compliant with all state and federal regulations including completion of all required reporting.
  • Guides student placement decisions and caseloads in ECSE.
  • Coordinates and manages third‑party billing for Special Education.

30% Staff and Student Support

  • Provides and assists the Directors in various building administrative functions.
  • Serves as a liaison between students, teachers, parents and community, building positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Facilitates problem‑solving with students, staff, and teachers in response to student behaviors.
  • Works collaboratively with school‑aged childcare Coordinator.
  • Assists in the planning, coordination, and delivery of staff professional development.
  • Assists in evaluations of licensed and non‑licensed staff (as licensure permits).
  • Serves on committees to support and implement changes and improvements based upon goals and initiatives.
  • Attends training, conferences, and seminars; keeps abreast of changing developments, instructional trends and educational technologies.
  • Attends IEP and IFSP meetings as administrative designee.
