Your ImpactThe Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites near Becker, Minnesota. The technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while maintaining safety and professionalism. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of Becker, MN.
CoreResponsibilities
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub‑Station equipment.
- Document work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi‑meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
- Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Apply a strong safety background, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Work independently or in a team environment.
- Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally in accordance with company policies.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in commercial/industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants.
- Preferable:
Preventative maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
- Solar experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub‑station equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI).
- Ability to take initiative to escalated site issues.
- Capability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices.
- High work ethic and aptitude.
- Must live within approximately 50 miles of Becker, MN.
- Exposure to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and on‑call via phone/text.
- Travel up to 25% of the time, depending on company support.
$30.00–$42.00 hourly (DOE). Compensation is influenced by skill set, experience, and location. Additional benefits may include performance and referral bonuses, productivity incentives, equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, and per diem.
