Job Title: Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)
Location: Buffalo, Minnesota
Schedule: 10:00PM - 6:30AM x 5
Term: 24-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate
: $107 - $115/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a locum tenens assignment in Buffalo, Minnesota. These positions are 24-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):- Provide orthopedic patient care services as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner covering a 6-8 month military leave contract
- Work a Monday through Friday schedule, or Monday/Tuesday/Thursday clinic, Wednesday clinic, and Friday administrative duties from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Perform morning rounds and occasional weekend coverage as needed
- See 20-25 orthopedic patients per clinic day, including adolescent and adult populations
- First assist in the OR for total joint replacements, fracture repairs, foot/ankle, shoulder, knee, hip, hand/wrist, and general orthopedic procedures
- Perform casting, splinting, and DME application
- Administer joint injections
- Utilize EPIC Excellian EMR system for clinical documentation
- Maintain valid Minnesota PA or NP license upon hire
- Maintain active DEA and CSR credentials
- Maintain current BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support certification within 180 days
- Maintain Certification as Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) or equivalent PA certification within specialty upon hire
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and compliance documentation requirements
