Senior Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – Join Walmart’s local retail store team to support and oversee repair of refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and a variety of tools. You will use our work order management system, provide prompt responses to emergency maintenance calls, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand, digital, and power tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair activities for stores and store associates.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines, performing work according to Walmart safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Complete 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s of applied science in A/C and refrigeration.
• Excellent driving record.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.
• Optionally, 8‑year experience with HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an AAS in A/C and refrigeration.
