SUMMARYAn Accounting Intern supports the finance or accounting department by assisting with basic accounting tasks, data entry, and financial record keeping. This role provides hands-on experience in accounting principles, financial reporting, and business operation. ~20 hours p week
ESSESTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, reports, and statements
- Perform data entry for invoices, expenses, and transactions
- Help reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Assist with auditing and reviewing financial documents for accuracy
- Organize and file financial documents (physical and digital)
- Help prepare tax documents and compliance reports
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Conduct basic financial analysis and reporting
- Perform administrative duties as needed by the accounting team
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior internship or coursework related to accounting
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS)
- Experience with data analysis tools
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
